Hudson Valley Wedding at The Garrison
As many people know, Hudson Valley weddings are famous for the fall season. For obvious reasons of course! Fall foliage, crisp air, wedding decorating options, just to name a few. I did a wedding for Melissa and Brian at one of my favorite locations, The Garrison, in Garrison NY.
I was their wedding DJ, and also provided ceremony and cocktail music for them as well. Melissa and Brian came my way as a referral from another wedding vendor, another Hudson Valley DJ. We did alot of our planning via phone and email, these two are busy people, doctor and a nurse. you can imagine how busy they are and were when you through wedding planning in the mix.
They were an absolute pleasure to work with. Things and details were very simple with them. They wanted a really good, fun party! No cheesy wedding stuff, or any cliche wedding gimmicks, they wanted a DJ that would kept everyone dancing all night. This was easy for me, I mean really easy. This was one of my best dance parties all year. From the first song, Sinatra I believe, then into Dion, they were all out on the dance floor. A decent size crowd they had, half from New England and the other from The Westchester, NY area. So there was a New York – New England rivalry there. Non the less, it didn’t get in the way of the dancing.
Melissa was an incredibly beautiful bride. Stunning! The ceremony was outside under the pavilion at The Garrison. With such perfect weather, the wedding sights were breathtaking with amazing views. Inside for cocktails in the newly renovated cocktail room at The Garrison, with such a new modern that also brought a rustic wedding feel to it.
The reception was like I said a great dance party. A first dance that was to a song, rarely available, I had to do some serious searching for. It was an acoustic version of Crazy Love by Van Morrison and Bob Dylan, recorded in Greece.
All great parties start and end with the bride and groom and this was a perfect example. The happy couple were on the dance floor partying right from the start! Thanks to Weefan Photography for the amazing pictures that captured the evening!
